Is your child watching too much television or spending too much time watching other screens (read tablet, mobile, ipad)?
While we three sisters were being raised by our super home -executive mom, she let papa be in charge of polishing our shoes every day.....
I read somewhere that when we express appreciation to young kids, it gives them a sense of significance.
*My son is so shy; I really have to help him overcome this!* Being shy is not a disease. We all wish for our kids to be happy, healthy and successful.
Let your child make mistakes and watch them learn. I remember my father let us three sisters take our own decisions when we were younger. It started out as what to wear.....
How ironic this is, that we as parents force our kids to respond, talk, perform, sing at the most unusual situations. And then when they grow up and this habit becomes annoying that we start *shhhing* them. If you have gone through any of the above; you are surely raising a chatterbox.
I am sure, all of you have planned your kid’s summer vacations- enrolment in a 2 week summer camp with lots of art and craft activities, one or two weeks at nani-nana house, a week stay at the nearby hill station and then back to the grind of finishing the holiday homework just in time before schools reopen.
Can we really protect our kids from allergies and asthma? The answer can be a yes and also a no. My mother is suffering from bronchitis asthma.....
There was a time when I used to buy everything and anything from the toy store for my son. Later on I realized that few of them were not even appropriate for him to play.......
The one major difference between my parents and me as a parent is- they never fought in front of their kids. This is a major confession I am making here it on this platform.
Until the age of three, my son was still not settling in any particular pattern or a daily routine. Most of the times he slept late, had longer afternoon naps and hardly had any regular meal timings.
